Enzo Denti – Meet the Galacticos

Continuing in our series in which you get to meet and learn more about the Cloud Galacticos team, say ‘hello’ to Enzo Denti, one of our recent Technical Architect hires. I caught up with Enzo to ask him a few questions.

Enzo Denti, Technical Architect

Hi Enzo, can you give us a bit of background about yourself and your work history?

I started my journey by playing computers, mainly the Commodore 64 of my uncle and cousin.  We spent hours copying a program to draw a flag or to play a bang sound.

Then things got more serious when I started my university career in Pisa as Computer science Engineer. After the degree in Pisa I found a job as Java developer in Arezzo.

At some point of my life a chain of coincidences brought me in north Yorkshire, where I was introduced to Salesforce. I spent more than four years working for a well known Salesforce ISV as software developer. I moved between end users and consultancies, until I was onboarded in Cloud Galacticos.

What’s your story behind joining the Cloud Galacticos team?

Enzo Denti Cloud GalacticosI met Phil and Paul through the user/dev community. I then got more active in the community and I started to co-lead the Leeds Dev Group with Paul. That gave me the opportunity to approach Paul directly when I saw Cloud Galacticos was recruiting a Technical Architect.

What is your role as a Technical Architect at Cloud Galacticos, and what do you enjoy about it?

At the moment I’m involved with a client that is getting started with Salesforce for the first time. It’s an exciting green field project. It’s a great feeling knowing that I’m helping our client to get the best from the platform. In this role I have to ensure that all the different parts of the solution will get together nicely and effectively

Do you have plans to take any Salesforce certifications in the near future?

At the moment I’m taking a little detour from the Salesforce certifications, I got involved more on the enterprise architecture with the TOGAF certification. After I pass that, the next would be quite likely the Java Developer certification. If then we want to spread from plans to dreams, in the long term there is the CTA.

At Cloud Galacticos, we’re a remote work focused company, what advice would you give people to make the most of working remotely and staying motivated?

Staying all day at home can be daunting, and a change of scenery is sometimes necessary. So I have introduced some home escapes from the house in my routine. In the morning I go for a swim or some outdoor exercise and in the evening I often go for a walk with my wife in a nearby park.

Aside from Salesforce and working at Cloud Galacticos, what else do you enjoy doing?

Enzo on bike_Cloud GalacticosIn my spare time, mainly during the weekend, I go out with my motorbike. I enjoy riding through the gentle hills of north Yorkshire.

Also I recently discovered a passion for flour, water and yeast. I had a go at making my own bread, and from brick bread I honed my skills in sourdough, focaccia, and pizza.
