Slack CertsWant to build up your Slack cert skills and get recognition for your knowledge?

Slack is becoming part of our everyday work tool, so it’s always good to get the most out of it.

Visit this site, register for Skills ‘Trails’, then take your Admin/Developer Certs.

Then you can join Credential Holder Library and show off your skills to the world.

 

Tip 2 – Formula Updates

Hot News straight from the Salesforce CTO Steve Tamm, here are 2 big updates to Formulas…

First that the maximum size had tripled (here is the outdated Help page, in case you want to know what this 5k to 15k change refers to).

And secondly, there will be new formula functions like “ASCII, CHR, DAYOFYEAR, INITCAP, SIN/COS/TAN, ASIN…, ISOWEEK, ISOYEAR, UNIXTIMESTAMP, FROMUNIXTIME, PI, TRUNC. Maybe FORMATDURATION and IFERROR”

The general aim of some pretty big rebranding is ‘to integrate Marketing Cloud into one unified platform‘.

Just in case…I am sure we have all done this already…

But the Spring ‘21 Salesforce Certification maintenance deadline is in 2 weeks time (Friday April 8th).

For Winter ’22 you have plenty of time. If in doubt, take 30 seconds to check…it will help you sleep better at night!

Take a peak at the new look Appexchange. Judging by this article (which highlights what has changed) these may be the first updates of many.

So keep an eye out and give some feedback where possible.

 

 

 

Tip 3 – Snowfakery

Snowfakery

Just in case the name does not give it away “Snowfakery is a tool for generating fake data that has relations between tables. Every row is faked data, but also unique and random, like a snowflake.”

It is an open-source tool created by Salesforce.Org which I think many of us will find useful.

The World Tour London has been announced, or re-announced with a different date.

The new date is June 16th, unfortunately close to the other big Salesforce UK event of 2022 London’s Calling (June 10th).

I’m sure I will be at both, you?

 

 

 

 

Tip 3 – Book of the Week

Another of the books recommended by Bill Gates (this is probably one of the few similarities between the 2 of us!), was recently on my list too.

It is a fascinating read with some astounding facts and figures you just don’t seem to hear on the news.

Congratulations to the newest Salesforce MVPs!!

As you probably know this happens just once a year now, and with just 20 new people added to a small list, these 20 have gone above and beyond in the Salesforce Community.

Tip 2 – New Acquisition

It seems a while since Salesforce splashed the cash, so this week saw the announcement they had bought the consultancy partner Traction on Demand.

It is early days but the announcement says ‘Traction on Demand will become part of Salesforce Professional Services‘.

 

 

 

 

 

Tip 3 – New NFT Cloud?

Recently Salesforce suggested they would launch a new Cloud to enable companies to create and sell NFTs.

It was not wholly popular, and 400 employees have shared an open letter to protest against it.

Many people have been receiving ‘Sandbox expiration’ emails this week, and are wondering why (or why now).

There will be regular clean ups of inactive sandboxes… inactive means if it hasn’t been accessed for 180 days.

Tip 2 – Wellness Retreat

Take a look at this article from The Wall Street Journal which finally gives us some details about the ‘Salesforce Ranch’.

“The software giant signed a multiyear booking agreement for a 75-acre retreat set among the redwoods in Scotts Valley, Calif., to create an employee work-and-wellness center for its nearly 70,000-person staff.

Salesforce plans to use the property 70 miles south of San Francisco to onboard new hires and conduct off-site team meetings for social bonding and leadership training, said Brent Hyder, chief people officer.”
