Welcome to Phil’s Salesforce Tip of the Week #517

Tip 1 – NFTs for Trailhead

NFT for Trailhead

Along with blockchains and crypto currency, NFTs (Non-Fungible Tokens) are hot topics at the moment.

And what better way to learn more than to do a Trailhead?

So, what is an NFT then? They are tokens that live on a blockchain and represent ownership of unique items. NFTs are digital assets that represent either digital or physical objects like art, music, event tickets, videos, and more.”

Phil's Salesforce Tip of the Week

SalesforceA – Phil’s Salesforce Tip of the Week #515

Welcome to Phil’s Salesforce Tip of the Week #515

Tip 1 – DF for NP/Education

Tip of the Week

The excitement for Dreamforce, which happens next month, is building by the day. Of course, tickets are selling fast, and as always, will sell out…

If you work in the NonProfit or Education sector, you may be able to access a large discount on Dreamforce ticket prices and pay $499. While early bird pricing starts at $1,299 and expires August 9.

Register as normal, then choose the relevant option in the Ticket Type.

Tip 2 – SalesforceA

SalesforceA

If you haven’t used this already, don’t get too excited, as it is soon to be retired. SalesforceA appeared in 2015, and was used to administer an Org.

SalesforceA is a mobile app for Salesforce administrators. When you’re away from your desk, you can use your phone or tablet to perform essential administration tasks like resetting passwords, freezing users, and viewing current system status.

But alas this is now for immediate retirement.

Phil's Salesforce Tip of the Week

Single Sign-On – Phil’s Salesforce Tip of the Week #514

Welcome to Phil’s Salesforce Tip of the Week #514

Tip 1 – Code Builder

Code Builder

After last week’s post highlighting the launch of Code Builder…

Here is a Trailhead module to give you a bit more detail. 10 minutes well spent!

Tip 2 – Single Sign-On

Single Sign On

Thanks to our CTA, Ali, for this explanation of some big news this week about Single Sign-On…

Salesforce identity helps with building picture of customers by providing a secure and integrated platform for identity. This product inherits underlying Salesforce core platform features such as salesforce automation, lightning experience, and analytics that make it a unique product in comparison with other identity providers in the market.

(ISC)² is the World’s Leading Cybersecurity Professional Organisation and the fact they have chosen Salesforce identity approves this product from both security and capabilities points of view. Many other enterprises utilise Salesforce identity for both their internal and external users, and this means that Salesforce is a strong player in this area competing with big players such as OKTA, PING, Auth0, WSO2 and Microsoft.

This understanding shows why Ali is a CTA, and I am now just allowed to write blog posts!

Code Builder – Phil’s Salesforce Tip of the Week #513

Welcome to Phil’s Salesforce Tip of the Week #513

Tip 1 – Dreamforce

Dreamforce 2022 Phil's Tip of the Week

Tickets are now available for Dreamforce 2022! Early bird pricing ends 9th August, so if you are thinking of going then don’t wait.

Also with a much reduced capacity (around 30,000) this event WILL sell out!

Salesforce provide a handy ‘convince your boss‘ document – this is also useful for the many self-funders, because lets be honest we all need to look at the big costs & the ROI.

Tip 2 – Code Builder

Code Builder Phil's Tip of the Week

Code Builder is now available (in Beta), which has caused a lot of excitement!

“Salesforce developers have the challenging task of rapidly building and deploying apps in the age of “work from anywhere.” Therefore, they need flexibility in both how they work and where they work.

At Salesforce, we are committed to providing tools to make our developers efficient and productive.”

So what is Code Builder?

Code Builder, powered by AWS, enables you to launch a full-featured IDE in your browser from your Salesforce org with the push of a button.

Take a look at the full explanation in this post from the Developer blog.

Phil's Salesforce Tip of the Week

Salesforce Labs – Phil’s Salesforce Tip of the Week #511

Welcome to Phil’s Salesforce Tip of the Week #511

Tip 1 – Finally Warning

TODAY is your last chance to submit a session for Dreamforce 2022.

You can check our previous post for links to the different tracks, or go straight to the main submission page here.

There’s definitely an increase in people submitting their sessions, so competition is going to be even more tough this year.

Good luck!

(And looks like registrations will open this month too, so keep an eye out…)

Tip 2 – Salesforce Labs

Salesforce Labs

As you probably know, Salesforce Labs make many of the great free Apps that feature on Appexchange.

Salesforce Labs are holding 2 sessions (for different region friendly times), where they will walk through a number of solutions, and no doubt give some of the background of how & why they were created, and most importantly, what issues these Apps can resolve.

Register here, plus have the chance for a great prize.

Tip 3 – Dreamin in Color

Our Marketing Manager Ben was following this event, thanks for the write-up Ben…

Last week saw the ‘first & only conference for current or aspiring Black Salesforce professionals & entrepreneurs’ in Raleigh, North Carolina, Dreamin In Color. It was an astonishing success based on the many positive posts on Twitter before, during, and after the event.

We are a big believer in supporting and celebrating the diversity within the Salesforce Ohana. And any Salesforce event that makes Charlie Isaacs do a handstand on the dance floor must be doing something right.

Well done Tiffany Spencer!

Dreamforce 2022 – Phil’s Salesforce Tip of the Week #510

Welcome to Phil’s Salesforce Tip of the Week #510

Tip 1 – Dreamforce 2022

Dreamforce 2022

So how many people will attend Dreamforce 2022?? Initial reports said 30,000 but Marc Benioff revealed at the New York World Tour that in fact it would be 200,000. But no updated official number has been given. Pick a number!

If you don’t know what Numberwang is, you should watch this sketch from Mitchell & Webb.

Tip 2 – Coming Soon

Business Analyst

Not long to wait now… the much anticipated Salesforce Business Analyst cert will be launched July 11th. Take a look here for the overview and training links.

The general guideline for suitable candidates is 2 years of Business Analyst experience, and 2 years of Salesforce Platform experience.

Will you be first in line?
